About Us

The Humanitarian Umbrella for Relief and Development Organization (HURDO) is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit, and non-political organization established with the purpose of protecting human rights, saving and improving lives, building resilience, and creating lasting solutions for the most vulnerable, poorest, and marginalized families affected by poverty and natural disasters. HURDO was established in 2014 to address the insistent needs of marginalized communities in the south-central zone of Somalia. Our mission is to empower individuals and communities through holistic development initiatives, focusing on Protection, health provision, education and Food Security and Resilience. We believe that by providing access to these fundamental resources can help break the cycle of poverty and create lasting positive change in the community.
